Insomnia
Can’t sleep? Me neither. I go through spells were I either fall asleep without any problems and wake up at 1 am and cannot get back to sleep or I just can’t sleep. I am up all night kicking my leg because it never seems to want to stop moving or I am thinking of work or what to do the next day, or how I am going to make more money. Those sort of things keep up all night long and I can never seem to make it stop.
You would think that after 10 years of doing this every night that I might have found a cure for it but I know what is keeping me up. Stress keeps me up at night. I am always too darn worried about how to make a decent living, or how to make real monetary contributions to my family that I cannot get to sleep. Sometimes I am even up doing stuff like this thinking that it will make me a few extra dollars somehow.
I know it drives my wife crazy when I get out of bed in the middle of the night, or that I toss and turn for hours on end. She probably thinks I am up enjoying myself too. No, I don’t particularly enjoy being an insomniac. Believe or not I would much rather be sleeping because it is so relaxing and I certainly do feel better after I have gotten a good nights sleep.
I have tried sleeping medication but they don’t actually help me either, well. Sometimes they do, they don’t help me get to sleep but once I have gotten to sleep, they help me stay asleep but when I wake up I feel like it would have been better to have just stayed up all night because I don’t wake up rested. I don’t really like to take a lot of pills really. If I can help it, I usually wont take any aspirin unless it is absolutely necessary.
Anyways, I know that insomnia effects a lot of people and you should find out the facts about insomnia and get help if you can otherwise you end up like me, cranky, frustrated, tired, and really I look like hell. I am sure I fall into the category of a few types of insomnia but really I don’t care, I just want to go to bed.
